Latest events & happenings

Much of our time is spent on preparing for our Vietnam trip and repairing the fences that were blown down in the garden.

Getting very interested in digital art and started a major rewire of the MRP.

Superb holiday in Vietnam (see Polarsteps and photo record and hopefully some videos on youtube to come).

Return from Vietnam to pick up the long awaited new camper van.  Its great.

Have been for a couple of test camps, one to Chew Valley and the other to Longleat.  Several faults discovered which are being sorted.

Decided to get to grips with the Yeti roof leaking problem and decided to replace it.  Out of nowhere came a lovely metallic blue, all electric Kia Niro 4+

Took boys to Wales.  First test of the electric car.

Installing an Arbour in the Garden

Went sailing with Tim & Mike.  HN developed engine problem on entry to Lymington, which was scarry.

6 week trip in the camper to southern Italy. (see Polar Steps).

Developed Double vision. Visits to opthalmology dept  RUH fitted me with specs with prisms to correct problem. CT scans to find out cause.

Went camping with Rob & Colleen to Forest of Dean. Did long arduous cycle with an eye patch. Coped well.

Took boys to Wales for 3 nights  

Family BBQ at Steve's place on 31st August, then on to Hereford for a short camp with Rob & Colleen

Cerebral Angiogram at Southmead Hospital on 26th Sept confirmed the diagnosis of my eye problem as an Indirect Fistular into the cavernous sinus behind my left eye.  Surgery needed.  Probably in about 4 weeks.

Short camping trip to Dorset during spell of fine weather.

4th Nov a day I'll never forget.  The day of my operation to stop the fistula etc.  6 hour operation followed by 2 hours of 4 surgeons trying to stop the bleeding from my femeral artery and Vein.  2 days in hospital but outcome looks very promising.
